Ensuring a successful live streaming



  • Reboot the encoder/computer 30mins prior to the schedule


  • Make sure to double-check all hardware connections of the encoder (cable attachments, ethernet cable, external camera connection, sound system, &, etc.)


  • Run a speed test to see the current upload speed and adjust the settings if needed.


  • Ensure only one instance of your encoding software (vMix) is running. 


  • Do a quick SOUNDCHECK to see if all the inputs are working properly


  • Check the stream keys & make sure that the destination you want you to send your stream is correct 


  • Pre-roll a Graphics/countdown timer when starting the stream before transitioning to the actual live feed
